ISO readiness self-assessment

A short set of plain questions about how your organisation already works. You get a banded result and a suggested next step, including 'not yet' if that's the honest answer. It's a self-assessment, not an audit or a formal gap analysis.

1. Have you clearly defined the scope of the management system (which sites, activities and products/services it covers)?
2. Do you have a documented policy (e.g. quality, environmental, security or safety policy) that has been approved by top management?
3. Have you carried out a formal risk, hazard or environmental-aspect assessment relevant to the standard?
4. Are roles and responsibilities for the management system clearly assigned and understood?
5. Do you keep records of relevant training, competence or awareness activities?
6. Are your key processes and procedures documented in a way staff can actually find and follow?
7. Have you carried out an internal audit of the management system in the last 12 months?
8. Has top management formally reviewed the performance of the system (a management review)?
9. Do you have a working process for logging and closing out corrective actions when something goes wrong?
10. Do you assess or control suppliers/contractors relevant to the scope of the system?
11. Do you monitor and measure the performance of the system against defined objectives?
